Parenting trick: When one of our kids does something really good (usually but not always at school) we give them the "royal treatment." For the next couple days, all the rules are slightly bent. Stay up late? Candy with breakfast? Ok, since they're getting the royal treatment.

Is that the same feeling you felt before you started YC? You might have thought you didn’t know best about investment/ startups, but being best was not a requirement to add tremendous value to others.

How do you know that they know more? Have you verified or thought through all advise? If yes, you know as much, if no you don’t know how much they know. You are deeply reflective person so I’d bet my money that you give pretty good advice. Please let us verify it ourselves.

Beside, as you know, writing about it would certainly help you think through a lot of parental advice and as a result you’d be a better parent. Upside seems much bigger than downside:)
