Yeah, the thing about regulation is that it only works when everyone follows. If one competitor is allowed to skirt it gives them a huge advantage in the market. That sadly has become the norm.
Uber, Lyft are correct to battle both taxi mafia and political mafia but now in the Bay Area, they have become the new mafia for exploiting drivers. They take increasing amount of “juice” from drivers income with no choice and can threaten to end their income any moment.
