Kinda breaks if not enough builders (expertise, capital) within ranks of users with biggest / most pressing needs?
If you build something you and your friends want, you never have to go find users. You already know them.

Friends don't usually want to pay Paul
But, yeah agree! My first (FREE) users were my friends' companies / with their validation/requests/fixes — I was able to get paying customers (that I had never met online or off) for @claritask_app

If they use the product and love it then they are almost always willing to pay if you ask them to.
