One strange consequence of looking far into startups' futures is that I sometimes realize two YC startups currently doing completely different things will, if they do them well enough, end up competing.

Do YC companies ever “merge” (or something like merge) at a stage where for both companies it would be so under the radar that the outside world wouldn’t notice? I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens often, but curious?
