I often hear from people that my essays helped them, but beyond that you never know. That's the weird thing about writing: it can have great effects (is mightier than the sword, etc), but it's not "haptic" to the degree most other kinds of work are.

Indeed, your essays were really formative for me thinking about programming and value and making things; I sometimes feel like I raised myself as a programmer on them. I do miss their regular cadence today, but I recognize you might be deterred by twitter mobs.
