Was going to say, you'd want the person who DOESN'T want the job, a potential sign of a lack of maniacal ego is a plus
I asked myself who I'd want as world dictator if there had to be one, and my first choice was Peter Norvig. I don't think he'd want the job, but I don't think you'd want anyone who would.

Doesn't it work the same way with democracies? Wouldn't you prefer as a president someone who wouldn't run for it in the first place?

That was totally unexpected, but I agree. Peter Norvig is an awesome professional and he looks like a great person too. I think he was one of the rich people who wanted to be taxed more, and he didn't use it to brag. He really cares.
