Also the eclipse was amazing. I can only imagine how the Mesopotamian, Egyptians, Mayans, and Aztecs felt when the sun went out.

Or supernovas! Must have been truely mind-blowing, probably both scary and fascinating. Hard to imagine, but would certainly make one feel small and lacking in control.
