I think if you couple the business need for views with the “virality” of anger as an emotion, it makes a lot of sense that the news focuses on anger even outside of whalespic.twitter.com/IVK5X4wf4V
It's not simply that though because anger seems to work even independently of the increase in virality. E.g. Fox news predates viral spread by decades.
Could it simply be evolutionary survival mechanisms that havent evolved enough to seperate real from imagined threats...and is being manipulated by all media to tap into the perceived threat and fear of the other?
