Some people believe that if they can catch a leprechaun and make him implement their idea, they will become rich. (In California, leprechauns are also known as "technical cofounders.") #FolkloreThursday

Oh man, imagine founding a start-up that builds leprechaun AI's. We could be trillionaires!

Actually that's not a complete joke. If you could solve the problem of programming for nonprogrammers, you'd be that, effectively. And that may not be impossible.

That'd take an AI that's able to talk to the non-programmer in English and to determine what he/she wants, exactly, and then translate that into software code that implements those wants. Sounds rather challenging, but could be possible.

@paulg Do you think nocode solves this to a degree? And do 1) AutoML (google, baidu) I.e. supervised learning tool for images, sound, and natural language, and 2) AutoCluster i.e. unsupervised pattern and anomaly detection tools, extend this to ML and clustering?

Definitely the future and mostly a time intensive task than an intellectual one.. the question seems to be what kind of economy do we have afterward?

You're right! Wordpress sort of solved the programming for non-programmers problem in the web development domain.

It’s called “program synthesis” in academic lingo. One of the most interesting thing in current waves of AI but mostly flying under the radar.

It's still working for web design.. Just still requiring manual user input. AI would listen to ur idea, break it down into parts, relate it to u again for confirmation then search libraries, do installs and show you final result. At first it would be scrappy but achieves result.
