We saw this with Germany and Spain trying to charge Google licensing fees for news snippets in search results, and backpedaling after it backfired magnificently. I can only imagine a similar outcome with 1113.

How can one ignore one of the richest markets in the world. Isolation is always an option (see GDPR). But at what cost? There is a limit until where cowboy libertarian approach can work. See current state of AirBNB and Uber in EU. There is a cost to enter the market.
