What percentage of programmers are employed in start-ups? Are well-established firms that develop software equally indifferent to the credential? Do they pay more or less? If you're predicting the college wage premium will be going down, would you be willing to bet on it?
Apparently even IBM doesn't require college degrees now, so I would guess this is true of all but the most hidebound companies. The trouble with the college wage premium is that it also measures other things. But I'd be willing to bet fewer jobs will require college degrees.

To get through the screening process and interviews without a degree would require an impressive portfolio of work. Certainly possible for many but don’t think it’s feasible to expect the vast majority of people to do this without bootcamps, lambda, etc
