I've met a lot of people who were aggrieved that other people were rich and not them, and I've met a lot of people who went on to become rich, but I've never met anyone who did both.

I've had the opposite experience. Most of the junior VCs I met a decade ago were aggrieved, calling specific senior VCs unintelligent, lazy and undeserving, and now they're almost all rich
Of course people often resent their bosses (or senior partners in partnerships). I'm not talking about the edge case where people are upset that specific individuals they dislike are rich, because that's driven by their dislike of those people, not their attitude to wealth.
