Ugh whenever I’m on a plane now and I see poor parents trying to soothe a baby crying inconsolably I can’t help but want to offer to help - hold the kid, idk 
but man I’ve lived that pain and it sucks.
I had a crying baby behind me on the plane last night and I actually managed to entertain him enough to distract him. You can't expect that more than 1 time in 20 though.

A lovely story I heard last week after Luke Perry’s death is that he flew with empty balloons so when he heard children crying on airplanes, he would blow up the balloons and put smiles on their faces. I will never fly without balloons again.
