It’s probably better stated that “Your ideas benefit greatly from you being able to communicate them well.” Communication isn’t a prerequisite, but it sure is a useful corequisite.
The really interesting idea in this neighborhood is that there's a cycle: attempting to explain something to other people often causes you to improve it.

And it helps to cement an understanding of the idea. If you can’t explain the idea, it might indicate that the idea is flawed, or that your understanding of it is incomplete.

Interestingly, I find this extends even down to variable names. If I can't think of a good name for something, it's often a sign that it shouldn't exist.

In corollary, the ammount of money that has gone to smooth talkers who never delivered vs people actually building meaningful projects that maybe can’t communicate them as well, is an important criteria to judge Investors by.
