That may be occurring some portion of the time. But it doesn't mean it's occurring all of the time. Does it?

I thought privilege is a concept of identifying where people are systematically and institutionally oppressed, and the point of observing privilege should be to call attention to injustices rather than to denigrate a non-oppressed?

That's how I use it, but I'd be lying if I said that the majority of uses I see meet this description.

Privilege is very useful as an explanation of why communication fails and why people will tend to make unfounded assumptions about how others survive. There is a moral weight carried by the way those assumptions are implemented to maintain power for those who hold them.

If the language and ideas of a particular privileged group are encoded into the law and institutions of a society, the consequence are likely to be injustice for other sections of that society. In this regard, the idea carries definite weight.

Mostly subconsciously but d problem is that any critic gets trolled by blind fans of d so called privileged and due to the theory of social proof and pluralistic ignorance at play every1 thinks it's ok to troll d critic since d other guy is also doing that.hapeens in d Bay area 2

It's both a way of cutting off opponents, and also a credible critique from a Marxist perspective. If you view the system as a system, there's no question that it can be more oppressive to some people than others. Is calling attention to this necessarily wrong? I doubt it.
