I.e. it only covers a subset of the possibilities, but quite a large subset, and it will protect you from a thousand pitfalls you don't even know exist.

I'd say that neither case *completely* covers more than a trivial set of possibilities -- most writers aren't writing autobiographies, and most successful startups satisfy more that just their founders' needs. But in both cases, it's an extremely good starting point.

Is this age and scope specific? I feel that experience and objectives matter here. ie Elon Musk wants to go to Mars vs a young hacker trying to start a startup.

I wonder how u think abt the equivalent or relevance of this for social/envtal impact startups. If we build sthg we think is useful to the least fortunate, or that helps reduce negative envt impact, we are not the user but can compensate w/ empathy & be super close to users?
