This recipe will beat all three: ship quickly, then relentlessly optimize for growth, and don't hire a lot of people till you have it.

Obviously this won't work for all startups. Boom or Oklo can't avoid spending before growth. But even in cases like those you can adapt the recipe. Just replace "growth" with "convincingness to investors." E.g. hitting milestones.

Sorry but how shipping 'something people don't want' faster can solve the problem? Am I missing something here? Did I misread?
-
I guess the general idea is to redesign the product sooner and burn less money on the initial failure. That'll give you a few more tries to create something people actually want.

In crypto, your customers can be other crypto companies in the space, speculators, developers, etc. It’s not as apparent, but the customers surely exist and number in the hundreds of thousands at least.

You are presenting 2 very different theories: 1. Nobody wants the product to begin with, and 2. Poor business sense. Not sure if your tweet is just poorly worded, or if you should just not give business advice?pic.twitter.com/hnAGHci4NX
