I feel like you could achieve so much just by removing quote tweets. The ability to take a single tweet and show it to your followers with your comment encourages toxicity

the revenue model of social media is based on ads and marketing; as long as that is true, they are optimized for propaganda rather than honesty and humanity.

i wonder if an upvote and downvote system that gives many “relative” elo scores to single users based on the votes of your tastemakers. instead of following/befriending people you can only add profiles as tastemakers for your feed

Twitter is a completely different experience when you limit to top few or don’t read replies at all. It’s more like real life... you hear those you expect most of the time.

I haven’t heard viable playbook for “being very opinionated about the kinds of interactions that the network supports”. Seems like a minefield!

Podcasts.

Some products are just fundamentally flawed. Take the AK-47, super popular, “fights for freedom”, the world is way worse off. Basically social media should be banned if the platforms won’t apply current ethics to their content (they really fucked up lobbying to not be editors).

How about an invite only twitter where uncivilized behavior gets you banned and whoever invited you also lose cred? Feel like that's how it works in real life.
