People have little loyalty to meat per se. If you made something that was cheaper and tasted better, most carnivores would switch. Once that shift started, social pressure against eating meat would grow rapidly. It would seem, and in fact would be, perverse.

The biggest problem with inequality is that it is incompatible with democracy.

Inequality can allow a small number of people to outbid everyone else. Even if I am wealthier, if 1000 people worldwide can buy all the nice land, consume energy without constraint, influence politics, and cause businesses to orient to only their needs, I may not be better off.

It's not crazy, and we can already ask this question with something that rhymes. How many people have switched to almond, soy, oat milk, etc. from dairy? I think if you analyzed customer decisions for mixers in coffee, I believe it would give fair estimate of adoption/trend.
