The key breakthrough will be a nuclear fuel supply chain that isn’t most of the way to a nuclear weapons supply chain. A lot of the loud environmental opposition to nuclear power is boosted by quiet opposition that is (rightly) opposed to weapons proliferation.
Hopefully the molten salts approach makes this irrelevant. I’m no expert, but that seems very hard to get right.
