It sounds like we agree then. The part I object to is saying that we need to do this because we need the money for x. It would have been more honest to say that she just wants the government to take the money, regardless of what it ends up being spent on.

Raising taxes is necessary to RESTORE political balance as it is the available lucre combined with campaign expense that creates leverage for the uber wealthy. We need campaigns paid for and controlled by a public agency.

My understanding is that the national debt is rapidly reaching levels where interest payments will be as large as the military budget. We need to raise money through taxes b/c deficit financing has limits and we keep spending, regardless.
I think you've got the logic backwards here. We have work that wants doing, problems that need solving, spare human capacity to do it with, and all that's wanting is capital. You seem to think that this is just a post hoc rationale for a cash-grab.
When asked "how do we pay for it?" @aoc explicitly said "do it, then figure out how to pay for it" so you are just spouting nonsense.
