When things are fixed then maybe a politician vowing to lower taxes would be more appealing to the majority. And a good percentage of the 41% don't know how marginal taxes work. Not because their stupid, but because they are being lied to by politicians and fox news.
And some significant % of those ppl believe the tax applies to all income, not just that over $10M, because they are deliberately, strategically lied to by right wing media and politicians about it.
That’s because in the US, the poor doesn’t see themselves as poor, but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires. They think this tax will hit them later.
