I've a problem with this conclusion because using this idea, we could say that many people fighting for political correctness aggressively, trying to get everybody to agree with them are the "good people", which I don't think it's the case.
It seems to me it implies the opposite. In my experience, the sort of people you're talking about are much more likely to quote-tweet than to reply.
You’ll never change the mind of the extremist, sure. But you might convince someone in the audience. That’s why some people do this on both sides. And for the abhorrent, it provides legitimacy. So perhaps a better rule is don’t legitimize an extreme position.
