At the earliest stage the most common startup failure is obvious. Startups die when they never launch anything. They do a bunch of things that look like work and then just quietly disappear. Users are a sustaining life force so getting 100 who love you is critical path.

How does this work with a idea that requires a team / hardware (and hence capital) before they can get the first user? Example: Tesla / spaceX
You make something that eliminates the biggest investor worry you can with the money you have.

Gotcha like a v0 prototype which may not be the end product at all? Sort of like what cruise did. Makes sense. I guess that's the best you can do without actual users.
