I really don't think the Democratic establishment and AIPAC and others have quite grasped just how much they are losing and have lost wide swaths of the Democratic party base.

AIPAC runs the risk of going the way of the NRA if things continue this way. Will be very interesting to see how this plays out in the presidential primary.

"Going the way of the NRA" can't seem that frightening to a lobbying organization. The NRA still basically owns Congress.

You're confusing cause and effect. The NRA's power comes mostly from messaging and organizing. Much of Congress is pro-2A because their *constituents* are. If the NRA disappeared tomorrow, another organization with nearly as much pull in Congress would quickly take its place.
