@paulg is right that this is due to: 1) Globalization: it's easier for tech companies to enter markets globally, more quickly 2) The concentration of wealth becoming more prominent
I think 2 is reversed. This isn't due to the concentration of wealth, but rather the concentration of wealth is due to it.

Interesting thought. X causes companies to hit $1B more quickly -> 2) more concentrated wealth Is X = 1) globalization or is there an additional key contributor?

is there a way to put inflation relative to this? (i dont think it's the driving factor here but would be interesting to correct for it)
