I din’t fully understand why PG started YC since it seemed such a bad idea at the time; until now. Reading his interview in “Founders at Work” (great stories btw) & felt like ViaWeb investor experiences really gave him the perspective to create YC. @paulg Is that roughy correct?

YC is a decent and innovative platform but like a typical VC's portfolio of 90% failure rate how much percentage of start ups actually survive post YC? Any statistical metrics ?
