Why did TV deals become so much more valuable so fast? Is it because live sports are one of the few remaining things people don't record and skip ads on? Or because they're one of the few remaining things that get 18-35 yos in front of a TV?

Part of it is the NFL put the contracts out to bid. NBC had been there forever (like CBS and the Masters) and then Fox won the rights in the 90s.
