Hypothesis: You can learn a lot about a culture from what they have to borrow words for. E.g. it's a good sign we had to borrow schadenfreude, but worrying that we had to borrow joie de vivre.

I've never liked that word. It's not precise enough. I prefer founder.

Founder sounds like business owners, which could mean small-business owner, not a tech startup with potential to become huge. Entrepreneur means enterprising, go-getter, in French.
