Projects that yield great results often wouldn't seem promising to a rational person. Fortunately some people have a compensating irrationality: they're so interested in the project that they'll work on it for its own sake.

Agree. My statement was a bit of an over generalization. I know it’s not that simple.
I didn't even check what this was a response to before liking it. It's just so wonderfully rare to hear on Twitter.

Be irrational - because we expect other people to have already optimised for rationality.
Thus, one’s edge comes from focussing energy on the unpredictable and irrational.
