Horrifying : “1 in 10 hospital patients get medical error, 1 in 300 die of error.” BUT source is WHO press conference. Unbiased numbers maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of claimed. Still horrifying. Your allies lie as much as your opponents. Must be true on average.https://www.reuters.com/article/us-safety-idUSTRE76K45R20110721 …

Get to know a lawyer who does medical malpractice (insurance side or plaintiff side) and you'll hear more horror than you'll get from doctors.

It reminds me of simple procedure @ U of Chicago hospitals killed its "golden goose" :'(. I tracked these numbers for a long time. It used to stand at ~100K/y. In the recent past it jumped to 250K. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2016/05/03/476636183/death-certificates-undercount-toll-of-medical-errors … The last number I heard but had no time to varify: 400K.

Actually, here snopes mentions 440K: "At best, experts have settled on a range of 98,000 to 440,000, but no one knows whether those numbers are grossly exaggerated or horribly underestimated."https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/doctors-kill-more-people-than-guns/ …
