Disgusted by the Republicans' adventures in culture war, the Democrats now propose to give us... class war. Hard to say which the historical precedents are worse for. The 20th century was basically a hard-fought tie in that respect.
It sounds like you have a couple unexamined fallacies in your thinking about this topic: (a) the pie fallacy, and (b) the fallacy that the richest x% at t2 are the same people as the richest x% at t1.

I’m simply not going to play semantic games with you. While the extremely rich pay often less in final percentage tax rates than the middle classes, it is self evidently true that the system is unfair.
