In a country where the top 1% have had massively escalating share of the ownership of the country and the bottom fifth don’t even have healthcare, how are *democrats* engaging in class war by saying that it’s obscene for people to be billionaires while others starve?!
But that's exactly what people starting class wars usually do say. And they are often correct. But that doesn't make class war a good idea.
Progressive taxation does not constitute a class war. Again, strip mining the citizenry so that one percent of the country can get richer and richer at the cost of everyone else - *that’s a class war*
There is a baseline commitment that society has to make to all citizens, and if you are lucky enough to have inherited wealth or to have benefitted from the social contract to make so much money you don’t ever need to work again, then you have a role in supporting others.
