That’s a legitimate argument. I don’t buy the equivalence though, because the language used is so different, and what we are talking about is messaging (to respective bases). When Democrats begin referring to named billionaires as disease-spreading vermin, I’ll check back.
The Democrats are certainly not as far down the road of class war as the Republicans are of culture war. As my original tweet said, they're late adopters of this sort of tactic. But history shows both roads are bad ones to go down.

It’s fair to warn them against taking that path, but I do not see them as being on it - yet. Naming as examples does not equate to dehumanizing and blaming. I hope I’m right.

Even if we call both cases “naming” or “targeting”, equating the two ignores that one target pop has very little power (individual immigrants) and the other has a lot of it (billionaires). The same tactic applied to folks with and without power has such a vastly different impact.
