It's only "class warfare" when the rich are the target. Since the 1980's the wealth divide has increased, the rich got richer, working people and the poor have been losing, but that's not "class warfare."https://twitter.com/paulg/status/1089194158961684480 …

I'm not comparing taxation with deportation. I'm comparing the political tactic of naming individuals you want to tax with the political tactic of naming individuals you want to deport.

these two things really do not seem comparable to me at all, in any way. More people should take the
@Schwarzenegger approach to taxes: “I always tell my accountant, If you’re in doubt about taxes, pay more .. I love paying my taxes!”https://www.politico.com/story/2012/12/arnold-i-love-paying-my-taxes-085031 … -
more *obscenely rich* people who make more than 10 million dollars per year, anyway... though I hope the context of that was abundantly obvious

These individuals pay money into the political system, how is it off limits to talk about the benefits they receive from that money in our politics? We talk openly about the Koch's and what they buy with political contributions, is it so different to talk about others?

You are equating being barred entry to the country to escape persecution with being taxed more after your first $10mm in annual income. You may have lost your mind.

No, I'm not equating deportation with taxation. I'm equating the political tactic of stoking partisan feeling by naming individuals you want to tax with the political tactic of stoking partisan feeling by naming individuals you want to deport.

@paulg - Agree. Redistribution of money by taxing a select few or top X% is same stupid short-term thinking all over again that produces no sustainable growth. Sad to see the Democrats do this. Rather incentivize them to aggressively invest more; that will benefit in long term. -
Taxes were incredibly high on the wealthy in the post war period, which was the largest period of growth in the last 100 years. Growth has been comparatively low since the 80's when taxes on the wealthy were greatly reduced.
