Disgusted by the Republicans' adventures in culture war, the Democrats now propose to give us... class war. Hard to say which the historical precedents are worse for. The 20th century was basically a hard-fought tie in that respect.
I asked myself if there's a group that gets attacked either way, and there is: successful immigrants.
Hypothesis: you can measure the health of a country by how they treat successful immigrants.
And a group that's safe either way?

I don’t take it personally- we are immigrants because we understand the deal we are getting is better than staying back; and we cant vote so we dont bring anything of value to the table (for a pol.)
Successful immigrants have never done anything to harm this country. The wealthy, by contrast, have a decidedly mixed record.
Black people?
I would worry about the struggling immigrant first. Unless you only want to admit the son of the Nawab of Pataudi.
That depends on whether you define success as "meeting material needs" or "owning more wealth than they could ever spend". I'm definitely a member of the former camp, and I don't feel that a red carpet has been rolled out for me.
