Disgusted by the Republicans' adventures in culture war, the Democrats now propose to give us... class war. Hard to say which the historical precedents are worse for. The 20th century was basically a hard-fought tie in that respect.

I asked myself if there's a group that gets attacked either way, and there is: successful immigrants.

Hypothesis: you can measure the health of a country by how they treat successful immigrants.

“How dare the Democrats propose tax brackets like *checks notes* the 1980s!” This isn’t even close to a class war, bud

Claims that the US had great economic growth despite high income tax rates in the mid 20th century conveniently ignore the fact that the amount of tax actually *collected* was about the same as today. pic.twitter.com/b3jBE9w3oO

Class war brought us labor protections and a shorter work week. Sorry to see you on the wrong side of history.

some are making this ^ calculation and some do think class warfare is a good idea. It's wrong to say the "Democrats" want class warfare but it's not wrong to say that the Democratic coalition gladly includes class warfare advocates in its big tent. I think that's a good thing

No, the difference is between “protect our borders like every other nation” -culture war and “let’s divide everyone into groups of victims and then virtue signal for them” -class war.
