Indeed. A large chunk of the VC practice around here is inherited from PE. I confess I've done it, years ago. Took me a while to realize, just as the article states, that it brings next to nothing for a huge cost to the founders. The exact opposite of a good deal.

Not in the startup world, no; it's more of a SMB thing. However many people in Europe, incl. VCs, prefer that founders stay poor forever. We at

Personal guarantees are insane. One serious reason that
