Realistically speaking, the US probably has enough resources to shut down any cryptocurrency. They probably overlook it bc it’s a small part of the economy + there’s a business (Coinbase et al) and a social cost associated.
I’d say @SpaceDecentral is more aligned to be a government agency competitor, as @SpaceX does nothing to allow global citizens to contribute to their mission, and because you know, ITAR and being a C Corp.
Say what? Even Elon musk acknowledges how much of their success they owe to NASA. The contracts (i.e money) but more importantly, many decades worth of expensive technology transfer they got from NASA. Because Govt doesn't exist to "make money".
