I'm skeptical when people tell me something is massively undervalued, and they're not trying to take advantage of that fact. They're either unselfish or mistaken. And while unselfishness is common, mistakenness is even more common.

I wish Taleb could introduce his useful soundbites without accompanying 400 page compendia of endless repetition. His next work should be on brevity and subvert all his previous works.

A perfect example of the “Don’t listen to what people say. Watch what they do.” principle.

Or maybe they're just very risk-averse or not in a position to take advantage of that fact (i.e. unskilled, no financial resources...)

Doesn’t it depend on the capital structure? How would you reconcile your comment if there was one class of shares and all financings were rights offers. Operating more like a public company vs the relatively different shareholder values in a growth company .

Any startups trying to make smart public transport that doesn't stop at every single stop, instead tries to box people that want to go to the same place together? I can't understand why subways don't get smaller cars that only stop at the stations people want to get in or out of

Because subway trains can’t pass each other. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bus_bunching …
