I think market cap, stock price, obituaries are a signal but not the leading ones. The fundamentals like customer focus, humility to learn, innovation are paramount, accolades will follow on their own.

This is what Salesforce did when Oracle launched Siebel. And of course, no one today knows what Siebel is. I always like to think this letter was paying homage to that moment.
