Companies like Apple and Facebook won't be bold or flexible enough to lead this. It will be a case of "if the people lead, the leaders will follow." Probably yielding some new leaders in the process.

I can imagine a near future where younger generations stereotype older generations as having their heads buried in screens and their social lives entangled with online services.

Prediction: the addiction, while spurred by awful SM algos hacking human habits, will turn into a dependency much like how we can’t live without the web now. The flow of ideas and concepts is not something humans will relinquish. BCI products will be the new phone.

I agree about the response but disagree about the group. What I'm seeing is the 25-35 age group conferring antibodies upon their children, while remaining infected themselves.
