also general info overload (from Twitter & everything else) steals bandwidth from subtle/multifactor understanding, creates craving for snap dimensionality-reducing “good-person-with-me”/“bad-person-against-me” pigeonholing
It's because the damning explanations make people more indignant, and things that make people indignant spread faster on social media. The result is a sort of hive mind that always does the opposite of Hanlon's razor.
