My son went through a massive Anomalocaris phase. He just loved saying it.
My 6 yo's favorite animals at the moment are Cambrian stars like Anomalocaris, Hallucigenia, and above all Opabinia.

Anomalocaris forever. Stross's "A Colder War" invents a cool origin for it. It was thought to be 3 different species at one point; it kept the name of the shrimp-like one.
