12 years ago today, I finished writing Hacker News. (I delayed launching it till Feb 07, IIRC because the Reddits worried it would mess up their acquisition by Conde Nast.)

At first it was called Startup News, but it was so boring reading about nothing but startups that a few months later we broadened the focus.
