Watching my girls play games over the last few years and today, I get the feeling we really need to design for younger gamers more.

They watched the Sonic Mania trailer for switch, excited at the mention of 3 playable characters.
but then they looked a little forlorn and asked "why isn't there a girl?". I don't have a good answer.
