The negativity I’m seeing about WB patenting the Nemesis system is a massive surprise to me. Anyone that works or has worked at a big studio must have seen this? It’s pretty common practice.

Yeah the ghost car patent was annoying, but you worked around it. Same with the Namco loading screen patent, although that's now expired. (https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2015/12/loading-screen-game-patent-finally-expires …)
Oh yeah good shout, forgot about that one. I guess the outrage isn’t that surprising, I felt the same when I first found out about such nonsense, sometimes forget how long we’ve been at this!
