In the past I was QA on large open world games for a number of years, I can say with some certainty that you aren’t gonna catch em all.

Have I missed something? Not to go against the grain here, I don’t think the man was actually blaming his QA team. He was attempting to take ownership of their problems. Even asked people not to blame his team. That doesn’t exclude QA.

I’m not excusing any issues that exist, clearly there are problems with the release. But seems odd if this is taken from that one comment, can only assume that I missed something.

Regardless I kinda feel like radio silence and a focus on the fixing might be beneficial at this point.

I agree. I interpreted the sentiment as upper management accepting fault not blaming QA, which I thought was a respectful move. My only concern is the amount of potential crunch required for the ongoing patches and hotfixes.

Yup agreed, I certainly believe there’s some shenanigans went on. I just hope management look at teams like Hello Games to see how you turn such a situation around. But goes without saying that QA are the goats.
