Cineworld’s collapse confirms: big budget cinema, will become serialised (which the MCU has been doing anyway) and usurped into online platforms. Indie and world cinema will be the new opera, reserved for specialised and older audiences. Videogames will rule.

They will still have to pay rent and maintain buildings and top salary staff for months before the prospect of any income, and all of this after a very expensive global merger. I don’t think it’s looking good.
