I know, genuinely sad that I don’t feel the need to use it any more. Initially it was partly to put a little distance between myself and VR. I just never really felt the need to put it back on. That and my play space is poor since I moved home. That definitely doesn’t help.

I still can’t shake the feeling that there isn’t enough original AAA quality content to hold my attention. And for all the talk, the social side of VR is dead for me. To be clear, I do love VR and there are some great VR games/experiences/use cases, no doubt about that.

Games aren’t my main driver for sure but HL:A is something else in terms of polish

Oh absolutely, I’m not saying there aren’t any. I just expected/hoped for more. Valve deserve a lot of credit for putting their money where their mouth is. I just wished we’d seen more significant investments into bigger experiences, but it’s difficult to see that happening soon.

I’m also very happy to be proven wrong on this. It’s just a slither of how I’ve felt about VR most recently. Also shout out to Lone Echo, which scratched that AAA game experience itch.

There’s still MoH VR to come (apparently) and Hitman was announced recently (not that I want to play that) and of course X-wing Squadrons and Flight Sim 2020

I mean Astrobot was amazing, imagine something similar with Sonic or Mario with Nintendo level production values. Or if Sony went all in and let me be Kratos with the Axe and Blades of Chaos.
